Quack nurse arrested for making a patient permanently disabled after injecting him in the nerve

  • According to reports, she threatened the victim’s life as well as the life of his mother after carrying out the act.
  • While receiving treatment for typhoid and malaria, the victim reportedly received a nerve injection from the nurse, which resulted in the victim losing the use of one of his legs.

Police have detained a 35-year-old nurse named Jimoh Ganiyat for allegedly injecting a 22-year-old graduate named Omosebi Tomiwa in the nerve and permanently disabling one of his legs.

The suspect was charged on December 19th, 2022, in front of an Itori Magistrate Court. The suspect, who resided in Ogun State’s Arigbajo neighborhood, had made the claim that she was a registered nurse.

She was accused in front of the magistrate on 5-count charge, including malicious assault on the mother and victim, as well as careless and negligent treatment of the victim.

According to reports, she threatened both the victim’s and his mother’s lives after carrying out the act.
According to information obtained, the accused shot the victim in the nerve while treating him for typhoid and malaria, which left one of his legs permanently disabled.

The charge against the nurse read:

“That you Jimoh Ganiyat ,f, on the May 22, 2022 at 1 Olorunsogo Street, Arigbajo, Ewekoro, Ogun State r£cklessly and negligently commit an act on one Omosebi Tomiwa by not giving him proper medical precaution and by endangering his life and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 343 (i,e f,g) of Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria 2006.

“That you, Jimoh Ganiyat on the October 2, 2022, at about 21:15 hrs at the same place in the same magisterial district did a§§ault one Mrs Omosebi Toyin by inflicting inj¥ries on her body and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 351 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State 2006.”
