Popular reality star, Uriel Oputa freezes her eggs as she bemoans the struggle of time running out on her side while waiting for the perfect man.
In a touching video shared by the BBNaija star on her Instagram page, she visited her fertility clinic to freeze her eggs and secure them for future use.
What Are Egg Freezing?
Egg freezing, also known as oocyte cryopreservation, is a medical procedure in which a woman’s eggs (oocytes) are extracted, frozen, and stored for future use. This process involves stimulating the ovaries to produce multiple eggs, retrieving them, and then freezing them at sub-zero temperatures.
The primary goal of egg freezing is to preserve a woman’s fertility so that she may have the option to use her own eggs to conceive a child later in life, especially if she faces factors that may affect her fertility, such as aging, medical treatments, or personal circumstances.
The frozen eggs can be thawed, fertilized with sperm in the future, and implanted into the uterus through in vitro fertilization (IVF) to achieve pregnancy. This technology provides women with the opportunity to extend their reproductive options beyond their natural biological clock.
According to the 35-year-old chef, it was a necessary step to take as a woman’s eggs reduce after the age of 30; limiting chances of having a baby.
